The leasing giant, Vehicle and Equipment Leasing Limited (VAELL), was recently named among the top companies in KPMG Top 100 award in Tanzania. VAELL Tanzania trounced hundreds of companies that had entered the competition.

The Kenyan based firm which has its headquarters in Kenya and with presence in 18 countries in Africa has won similar awards in Kenya, Uganda and South Africa. This is its second major award this year. VAELL has scooped 14 awards in the last 5 years. It first featured in Top 100 KPMG awards in 2012. In 2014, VAELL Kenya was the first runner-up in the Top 100 survey, an initiative of KPMG and Nation Media Group that seeks to identify Kenya’s fastest growing medium-sized companies in order to showcase business excellence and highlight some of the country’s most successful entrepreneurship stories.

In 2015 VAELL Kenya joined Club 101, the club of the big boys. VAELL leases and manages cars and machinery to highly credit-worthy companies that shun heavy loans in buying movable assets and others that want to keep their credit lines open to allow access of funds for other projects.

The leasing giant is opening new branches in other African countries, a move that will see VAELL increase its client base and their presence in Africa.

While receiving the award VAELL Tanzania Marketing Manager, Julie William Kibera, said “VAELL subsidiaries in the region has been continuously received various accolades including the TOP 100 KPMG’s awards over the years because of its leadership in the industry. This is attributed to dedication and professionalism of our staff something that the award is based on. We handle clients and partners with outmost professionalism. All our staff in every country we operate in are people with very high integrity.”

Most foreign owned companies in Tanzania suffer from internal fraud something that VAELL has been saved from due to integrity and responsibility of its staff according to Julie Williams.

KPMG Top 100 award focuses on market products, internal factors and external factors. The leasing giant has good audited accounts something that made it rated Triple B by Credit Rating Agency. These among other factors also contributed to the leasing giant being named in this year (2018) by East African Business council Tanzania as the best East African Company in service sector. The lessor has also been named in the South Africa’s Titan Building Nation awards in the outstanding achievement category.

The company dedicates its success to its staff. “Most our staffs are creative young people. This creativity has been a driving force for the company as we serve our clients to plan their finances more effectively as leasing requires only small payments over a long time, depending on the terms agreed on,” said VAELL Tanzania boss.
